About the studio

The greatest story ever told,
told with everything we have.

PrayWorks Studios is a small independent animation studio, and the home of Bible in a Nutshell — the animated series bringing every book of the Bible to the screen, free on YouTube.

Who we are

Bible in a Nutshell began in June 2023 with a simple conviction: the greatest stories ever told deserve to be seen — not summarized, not watered down, but put on screen with the same care the world gives its blockbusters.

Today 444,000 people subscribe to that conviction on YouTube, and the animations have been watched more than 37 million times. Around the series has grown a studio: nine books in production as full animated films (eight books of the Bible plus the Book of Enoch), more than 1,600 cinematic shots so far, and eighty-one interactive episodes on this site — every scene built from real frames of the films, every scripture quoted word for word.

We are deliberately small. No offices, no board — a studio built around the work, funded by the people watching it. Everything we are asked about money is answered plainly on the support page, and everything we make for the series premieres free on YouTube.

What we believe

The next chapter is animation.

Word, print and paint carried Scripture this far. These are the three commitments every frame we make answers to.

Every book, faithfully

The whole Bible, not a highlight reel — Genesis to Revelation, book by book, with the text leading every creative choice.

Cinema-grade animation

Consistent casts, real cinematography, and a look built to last — craft that can stand beside any studio's.

Free for the world

Reach is the mission. Every episode of Bible in a Nutshell is free on YouTube, permanently — sponsors fund the making, never the watching.

How it's made

New tools, old discipline.

The honest answer to "how does a small studio make this?" deserves more than a buzzword — here is the whole pipeline, plainly.

The text leads

Every screenplay is drawn directly from the book being animated, with quotations from public-domain translations, word for word. Where scripture is silent we make careful artistic choices — we never rewrite the story or add doctrine.

Every shot is designed

Each book is storyboarded scene by scene, with a consistent cast carried across every shot — more than 1,600 designed shots so far, each with its own staging, light and lens.

Directed, take after take

The shots are rendered with new-generation AI animation, directed one at a time — often through many takes — and every frame is reviewed by human eyes. Anything that looks wrong is rejected and reshot.

We say the quiet part plainly: the rendering is done with cutting-edge AI tools, and the direction is done by people. That is how a small independent studio can put cinema-grade scripture on screen and give it away free — the tools are new, but the discipline is old: fidelity to the text, and care for every frame. We even teach the whole pipeline, openly, at Bible Media School.

Faithful — and honest about it

What you see is what the text says.

Word for word

Every scripture quotation in the episodes comes from public-domain translations — the World English Bible and the King James Version — quoted exactly, with its reference shown.

Marked when imagined

Where an episode dramatizes a gap — a journey scripture skips, a quiet moment between verses — the scene is labeled Imagined instead of carrying a citation. You always know which is which.

Enoch, clearly labeled

The library spans eight books of the Bible plus the Book of Enoch — an ancient text preserved outside the canon, told with the same care and always labeled as exactly what it is.

The road ahead

Where all of this is going.

The goal was never videos. It is real, feature-length films of every book of the Bible, free for the world — and a generation equipped to spread the good news through the content it actually watches. Here is the road so far, in real frames from it.

June 2023 · Done

First sparks

Every road starts in the dark. The channel opens with short animated stories — Eden, Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel, Jericho. Small films, one big lesson: the world wants scripture on screen.

2024–26 · Done

The world shows up

David & Goliath climbs past 7.7 million views. Samson, Job and Esther follow it into the millions — and a Spanish David y Goliat proves the stories cross languages as easily as borders.

Happening now

The leap to real films

A new production pipeline: consistent casts, storyboarded books, cinema-grade shots. Nine books and 1,600+ shots deep — progress you can watch move:

Next

Every book, every screen

Each finished book premieres free on YouTube — and becomes an interactive episode here, scene by scene, in the world's major languages. That door opens one book at a time.

The goal

The Bible, feature-length.

Theatrical-quality films of the whole sweep of scripture — Genesis to Revelation — with Bible in a Nutshell free on YouTube every step of the way.

That's the road. You're on it.

Two goals, one mission

The films — and the people who'll make the next ones.

The first goal is the films themselves: every book of the Bible as a real, feature-length animated film — theatrical craft, faithful to the text, and always free to watch on YouTube. Acts III to V above are that road, and sponsors are what move the meters.

The second goal is bigger than one studio. At Bible Media School, our community on Skool, the filmmakers behind the series teach the whole pipeline openly — writing, design, direction, the entire craft — so spreading the good news through content becomes something thousands of people can do. The films prove it works; the school hands the tools on.
